Yakyak developed from close friendship ties to Nepal and Tibet, with an empathy and profound respect for the people and their culture.
We personally make several visits a year to Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan, and Boudhanath to buy artefacts from small and family-run businesses. This enables us to select and buy only products of the best quality. It also ensures that we are buying from the people that make the goods so we are not putting money in the pockets of anonymous wholesalers or those that run sweat-shops and pay only subsistence wages.
Yakyak offers a wide selection of Nepalese and Tibetan artefacts which range from devotional and Buddhist objects, to decorative items, clothing, jewellery, and accessories.
We have a number of items for sale on our website. If you cannot see what you are looking for on our products page, please email us and we will be happy to source in Nepal anything we do not currently have for sale on our website or in stock.
During visits to Asia I come across many charitable organisations that need assistance and try to help wherever possible. I have been fund raising for the Kathamndu Animal Treatment Centre for some years now and more recently HART, a new charity that has been set up to help animals in more remote parts of Nepal.
Other charities that I support are New Futures Orphanage Nepal, and Ladli in Jaipur India which helps street children. Please visit my links page for more details.
We also have a monthly newsletter with new products and information about events we exhibit at.
